Binda Wild Card

I’m changing at work and a colleague asks about my bruises. At first, I say nothing. She says, “I’m only asking because my ex-boyfriend was really violent – I’ve heard about husbands that give their wives and kids a hard time. I know it’s hard to talk about.”

I tell her what’s happening and get upset. She tells me how she got help. She talks about going to a refuge for a few days with the kids to think things through. That might be a good idea.
